Commit To Showing Up For Yourself

In order to succeed at something, you first have to decide that you want to make a change. Once you have made the decision, you need to make a commitment to show up for yourself on a regular basis. And with that commitment you also need to commit to being kind to yourself. You may pour all of your energy into making improvements only to be let down by lack of progress or running into unforeseen barriers or delays. Don't beat yourself up. Don't give up. It's all part of the process.
You also need to remember to give yourself some slack. As long as you are trying and putting forth the effort, celebrate that you are dedicated to working on yourself and your game. Progress doesn't always show up right away. Often times, you may take one step backwards before you take two steps forwards. Commit to being patient too. If you can keep showing up and trying, eventually you will prevail.
Don't give up without fully committing to trying. All too often, people will get lessons and not give themselves enough time to assimilate the knowledge and swing changes before reverting back to their old ways.
The key here is to keep your eye on the prize. Golf game improvement is a marathon not a sprint. You may not notice small incremental improvements on a daily basis, but over time they will become evident. This is the reason you need to track your progress along the way and periodically check in to compare your stats.
Improvements won't happen if you are not in it for the long hall. You need to commit your energy to showing up every day. Pick one thing to work on everyday that will move you closer to your goal. Ask yourself if what you are doing is moving closer to or farther away from what you are trying to accomplish.
Commit to you and your game, you are worth it!
